We are experiencing rapid growth and continually looking to expand our team. We have vacancies for a Technical Project Manager and for talented CAD Design Engineers and Industrial Designers. Get in touch if you want to work on some exciting projects in central Oxford.

  • Technical Project Manager

      We are looking for an experienced and highly competent Technical Project Manager to support the delivery of our projects on time, to budget and within scope.

      Job Role Requirements

    • A degree in a relevant subject, either in an area relevant to Product Design or equivalent qualifications specifically related to Project Management
    • At least three years of Project Management experience
    • MS Project or equivalent project management software experience
    • Capable at managing multiple tasks across a range of different projects
    • Impeccable attention to detail
    • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
    • Willingness to learn about new projects coming into the business and understanding the project briefing requirements
    • Courteous, polite and professional
    • Seek to continually help OPD become more competitive and profitable through effective management of projects
    • Proven skills at managing and coordinating teams to deliver projects
    • Experience of setting, monitoring and analysing budgets
    • Advanced Excel knowledge and application of analytical and mathematical skills
    • The ability to communicate across a wide range of stakeholders both internally and with clients
    • Job Role Tasks

    • Attend client briefings and assimilate project proposals and timelines for new projects
    • Monitor existing project timelines and tasks and prepare weekly reports on the progress of all active projects
    • Drive projects to successful completion
    • Create detailed proposals for clients
    • Assign tasks to individual team members based on project requirements
    • Take proactive management of resources on projects that are running over schedule or budget
    • Run client meetings and ensure that all actions are minuted and tracked
    • Ensure invoices are raised promptly at relevant payment intervals
    • Track invoice payment status and take remedial actions on projects where we have an outstanding client liability and levels of exposure
    • Support work of Administrator in the following areas:
      -Project budget reports
      -Manage and track project expenditure against P.O. cover
      -Oversee time tracking system to ensure it is current and maintained
      -Deliver weekly project budget reports
      -Prepare supporting information for invoices

  • CAD Mechanical Design Engineers

    • Do you have a mechanical engineering or design engineering background, including at least a BSc and 3-10 years of relevant experience?
    • Do you have skills in complex assembly work and advanced surfacing and high proficiency in 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks and Creo/Wilfire/Proengineer/Enex/Catia)?
    • Have you worked across a range of fields or do you have experience of high specification electromechanical, optical or medical device design?
    • Are you able to demonstrate a high degree of autonomy and responsibility as well as being able to work well as part of a team?
    • Do you have a keen eye for detail and the patience for precision?
    • Have you had experience with simulation and analysis tools?

  • Industrial Designers

    • Do you possess an iconic sense of form?
    • Can you convey your ideas quickly using free hand sketching techniques?
    • Have you a talent for producing jaw dropping visualizations?
    • Do you have a keen sense of CMF?
    • Are your designs realistic and achievable?
    • Do you have at least a BSc and 3-10 years of relevant experience?
    • Do you have experience in Solidworks and Creo/Wilfire/Proengineer/Enex/Catia?
